My students need some more materials to help them stay active and healthy. We would like bean bags, dancing and movement CDs, a balance beam, some books about healthy food, and toy kitchen and play food items.

I teach in the inner city in a high need community where I have more English Language Learners than I have English speakers. I have students that are on a wide range of ability levels. Some students have no previous education, some are highly encouraged at home, and few have special needs.

The obstacle I face is the lack of a budget for physical activity and fitness supplies. My students are active while they are in school, however go home to sit in front of an electronic device instead of staying active.

I would like these items to help show students what other activities they could be doing at home to stay fit and healthy instead of sitting in front of some electronic device for an extended amount of time.

You will make it possible for my students to take part in more activities in the classroom by providing these supplies. This will make a lasting impact on the students because it will help them have a great start in choosing a healthy lifestyle by staying active.
