My Students

Childhood obesity has tripled in the last decades don't let my students become another statistic! They need physical education equipment to get moving and get healthy.

Physical activity is not only important for physical health, but can help students academically as well.

According to the California Department of Education, regular physical activity: May help improve students’ academic performance, including -Academic achievement and grades -Academic behavior, such as time on task -Factors that influence academic achievement, such as concentration and attentiveness in the classroom. I teach a group of bright, enthusiastic fifth graders at an urban elementary school. They are ethnically and socioeconomically diverse. I include physical education regularly each week. However, we have limited equipment access. I want to make physical education a fun activity that my students will benefit from now and carry on into adulthood.

My Project

New physical education equipment will help students improve their health and improve their learning. With new equipment, students can also prepare for their end-of-year physical fitness test. My students will be able to participate in new physical activities such as circuit training, which will help them with their agility, cardiovascular health and flexibility. They will also be able to achieve more in the classroom, as their attention and focus improves also.

My students will benefit in a variety of ways with some fun, new physical education equipment.
