Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Snacks and hygiene kits will help my students that come from low income homes, the opportunity to stay healthy and focused in class. It is really hard to stay focus on an empty stomach. As a teacher it is heart breaking to see a student stare at another student who is able to buy snacks everyday. This will help the student self-esteem as they share a snack with a friend with out being left out.

As the weather starts to change I want my students to feel comfortable with their bodies and come to school feeling fresh.

Providing self care tools will help students focus more on academics. They develop a positive self image and build a higher self-esteem which becomes a positive impact in well being and social interactions.

New comers and children who live in shelters, lack some of these resources. Sometimes parents are not able to provide these essentials. Maintaining hygiene practices reduce the spread of illness and risk of medical condition caused by the lack of self care. Therefore, proper grooming and healthy eating habits, is important to feel confident and motivated .
