Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My school is in a low, social economic neighborhood. We have 80 percent ELL students on free or reduced price lunch at our school. Many parents hold more than one job to make ends meet. The students are eager and ambitious to learn despite the limited language knowledge and resources. Class supplies and materials become crucial specially for second graders. Students lack skills on eating healthy, nutrition and hygiene. Our parents do not provide all the necessary tools to maintain a healthy learning environment.

My Project

Students need training and exposure on how to maintain healthy in order to grow smarter. These materials such as high protein foods, nutrient bar snacks and water for good hydration will expose them to make wise nutritional choices and to stay clear form diseases. This will allow them to attend school and have energy to participate and learn. Some students do not exposure to healthy foods and good hygiene materials such as soap for hand washing in order to maintain their bodies healthy. They like learning on how to improve their lives by making good choices. Many parents do not allow students to know that a healthy body creates and promotes better learners that excel now and in the near future.
