My Students

This is a very trying and stressful time during the pandemic. Many of the students in my classroom have missed many days of school due to the days off of school during Covid. I have many students in my classroom who are at different reading levels due to a loss of instructional time over the past year. The students in my classroom are learning at a very wide range from pre-kindergarten level to above grade level. I want to help prepare my students for their upcoming year in 3rd grade; however many of my students are unable to read on grade level 2nd grade work. I have to differentiate my lessons and materials in order for my students to feel successful. While we are in the classroom, I want to not only teach my student the standards and objectives for 2nd grade, but also present them with a variety of genres that interest them and they can feel successful reading independently.

My Project

Many of my students suffer from many allergies because of the air quality in the lower valley of Knoxville. Our city is nicknamed the "Dust Bowl". Essential Oils have been known to help clear the air of many dust particles and allergens that effect our little noses. Also, many of my kiddos come from a variety of demographic areas and do not get to celebrate the holidays like some children. I often reward my students with both oral and written feedback. These felt tip pens, stamp pads and stamps will assist me in letting my students know what a fantastic job they did on their work by writing them some positive feedback.

These essential oils will help cleanse the air quality in my classroom for those little stuffy noses and the Valentines day goodies will help give a fun treat for those kiddos who do not get to have fun holiday surprises at home.
