My Students

My students come from low-economic backgrounds where more than ninety percent of the students come from immigrant parents. My school is a place filled with possibilities and dreams because my students will be first-generation college-bound. My students are the physical representations of those dreams that their migrate parents had of coming to the United States for a better life through the education system. As a physical education teacher who teaches, team sports, individual/dual sports, and comprehensive sports, I work towards building my student's awareness of health and fitness through engaging activities that build their self-esteem and help promote healthy lifestyle choices. My students are eager to learn, and the school serves as a safe haven for all students.

My Project

My students need to stay hydrated during physical education time and I am constantly reminding students to bring water bottles, but there are times students either forget or just do not bring anything to drink. Students can utilize the water provided through this project to stay hydrated on hot, sunny days when we are outside doing various activities. Also, to minimize leaving the gym, students will have access to water while completing physical education exercises and team sports activities inside the gym and while outside. The Granola and Nutri-Grain bars can help students who comes to school without eating breakfast or the students that does not eat the breakfast at school. This resource will serve 350 students to help with the limited resources that we have at the school.
