Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are in a low-income/high poverty school, and they are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. As the school year gets under way, it pains me to see some of our students without the proper clothing to keep warm.

My students are resilient and ready to learn.

Many of my students don't have the ability to learn online due to inequities in the city. Despite the hardships they are facing with school being closed, they are eager learners. All they need is love and support to keep pushing forward!

My Project

The Wellness Center is a safe space for all of our students to come to and calm down, talk out their frustrations, and receive interventions to help them succeed in the classroom.

The materials and supplies I am requesting will be bringing these supports to their home for their social emotional health.

Please help me give my students art materials for home and distance learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Students are not able to leave their homes due to the shelter in place order. My students need a variety of art supplies to help them heal and cope.
