My Project

I teach ceramics to 150 high school students each semester in grades 9-12 as well as one period of homeroom. This is my first year teaching high school and I am so excited to welcome students and begin a new year of learning together after living through the Global Pandemic. Anxiety is at an all time high for my students and they need to feel safe and welcomed at school. Building relationships and community is very important to me, especially in the first weeks and months of the school year.

I want my students to know our shared classroom space is a safe space for them be no matter who they are, how they are feeling, or what challenges they are facing.

Your support will purchase large inflatable loungers that can be easily moved around and cleaned, fidget toys, and twinkling lights to create a warm and inviting space for students to take a break in during my class or just have a safe space to come and unwind anytime they need it.
