My Students

I teach in a Title I school in Brooklyn, NY. My students are creative, kind, and enthusiastic about learning. They come from diverse backgrounds and speak a variety of languages. My students try their best even in difficult situations but it is apparent this year is tough on them. This pandemic has made learning difficult for them due to many unforeseen circumstances. They are learning to cope with fear and stress as well as going remote at any moment. Even though it's a challenge, they are still attempting to show up and learn.

My Project

My amazing third graders are learning in person this year and often use the iPad to supplement their learning. They are eager learners and love learning this way. At times it is difficult for them to focus on their lesson because their headphones don't work, or someone near them does not have a pair and it becomes very distracting. Other times, they learn from home if the class is quarantined, and noises around them prevent them from focusing on their lessons.

I hope that you can help me provide headphones for each of my third graders to use in class and at home, to help them focus on their learning

We also need cleaning and sanitizing supplies to keep them healthy.
