My Students

My students are sweet, caring, and keep me laughing all day long.

I teach fourth and fifth students that have disabilities, but that does not stop them.

They tackle every project and task with perseverance and enthusiasm. My students may be the same age but they do not learn the same way. I have auditory, visual, and tactile learners. Each lesson has to be tailored to fit their needs to be successful. They do not let their disability stop them from learning!

My Project

My students have various disabilities. We use technology to learn new skills and practice old ones everyday. Many of the applications and technology the students use, use sound.

Having each student have their own headphones will help with concentration.

Because of their disabilities, they get easily distracted by the slightest noise. It will improve the attentiveness of each student completing the task they have in front of them. My students struggle with language and vocabulary. Some of the applications and websites they use speak to them and/or read the text to them. This feature would be more effective if they had headphones to listen to the text.
