Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
As a special education teacher in a low-income/high poverty urban school district, I know my students are faced with challenges they are too young for both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, they come to my door each morning with a smile on their face and are greeted with an even bigger smile by myself and the instructional aides.
Many of our students receive a free breakfast and lunch and are being raised in single-parent households or by extended family.
Even when at school, the circumstances at home can stay with them and can cause them anxiety during the school day. All these things may hinder their progress in school.
In our school, we strive to balance these challenges with positive experiences and try everything we can to help them succeed. We continually offer positive feedback and strive to emphasize that their education is indeed the key to a successful future. Our school is full of dedicated staff who care for and love each student.
My Project
In the virtual environment or in the school classroom, headphones provide respite from noises around the student and enable them to be more engaged in the lessons and their work.
These headphones are of good quality which will allow students to focus on their lessons, whether online or in the classroom.
The headphones will be assigned to each student for cleanliness and they will be responsible for their care, which is another good learning experience.
The TeachersPayTeachers gift card will provide me with more resources to provide stimulating and interesting lessons. I am looking forward to what additional ideas I can bring to my classroom! Thank you!
