My Students

Our school is a Title I school, located in a small, rural county. Our classrooms are filled with a diverse makeup of students that include English Language Learners, students with disabilities, and gifted students.

Our students are very eager to learn, and they come to school excited for a new day.

Most of our students come from low-income households where there are limited budgets for school materials and supplies; however, their families are very supportive and very involved in our school community!

My Project

Many of my students work on computer-based intervention programs for reading and math. These intervention programs help students who are below grade level close the gap, and they require headphones for use.

My students need some good quality headphones because many of them have to share the ones we have.

This is either because they are not able to purchase their own personal set, or the set they did purchase has been lost or damaged. The headphones I am requesting have a microphone, which will allow my students to record themselves reading. This will allow me, as a teacher, to measure and track their reading fluency progress. The storage racks will give us a safe place to store the headphones and decrease the chance of them being damaged or lost.
