Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our students will use over the chair organizers, headphones and privacy boards daily during reading, science, math, social studies, and language arts. I teach in a 5th grade ICT classroom that has a diverse group of learners. My class includes general education students, English language learners, and students with disabilities who require accommodations.

Our students are on many different reading levels, and it is important to us to not only bring them up to on-grade level reading level, but to also introduce them to texts that are challenging and intriguing that they would not normally be able to read on their own without headphones.

We have found that privacy boards are very useful because they help with anxiety and concentration for all of our students during tests, independent work and reading. Also, to make sure every student is met at their level and able to grow to the next level(s), copying paper is needed for homogenous, heterogeneous and independent learning/work.
