Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My second grade students are curious, creative, and full of heart. They come to school eager to learn, connect, and grow. Many of them are multilingual learners who thrive with interactive and visual support. This project will help create a learning environment where all students feel supported academically and emotionally.

The headphones will allow students to fully engage with essential online programs like Zearn, Lexia, Prodigy, and Epic without distractions.

These tools support math and literacy skills at each student’s individual level, and headphones help them focus in our busy classroom. A working speaker will allow me to share read-alouds, learning videos, and calming music with the entire class. Our current one is too quiet and filled with static, making it difficult for students to hear.

The floor cushions will create a welcoming and comfortable library area, encouraging students to read independently and with partners. Having a cozy reading space fosters a love of books and supports their literacy development. Lastly, the mini emotion plush toys and feelings book will help build students’ emotional vocabulary and self-regulation. Many of my students are still learning how to identify and express their feelings, and these tools will support our social-emotional learning lessons in a fun and meaningful way.

My goal is to create a classroom where every student feels comfortable, focused, and ready to learn. These resources will make a big difference in helping my students thrive academically and emotionally. Thank you for considering a donation to our class!
