My Students

My students come in every day with smiles on their faces and ready to learn. I teach a very diverse group of second graders in a high poverty school. Some of my students come from homes where they have been read to since they were infants and others come from homes with no books at all. Some come from homes full of food and others are part of our pack-a-snack program that provides food for students on weekends and breaks.

We have a wonderful second grade family and work hard every day to help each other make the best choices!

It is my goal to keep my students interested in all aspects of their education, especially reading.

My Project

We need new headphones in our classroom. All of the ones we currently use only work in one ear, do not work at all, or short out. I cannot tell you how many times I have heard "Ms. Yopp! I can't hear!"

New headphones will help us all be able to better focus.

It will help cut down on noise in the classroom which will help groups not using computers/iPads concentrate. We take our spelling tests on computers and it has been quite difficult when 3 or 4 computers are playing words at the same time.

These are nice headphones that we will most definitely use and take care of. They will be used daily during math and reading groups. These fun, pink headphones are brightly colored so that we can all easily see them if by some chance they get misplaced. Thank you all so much for considering our project!
