My Students

My students come from a high-needs and poverty stricken area bringing challenges both inside and outside of the school building. I do not believe this defines them because I see a great amount of potential within every one of them. My desire is to create an environment where the students are able to succeed and be prepared for their future.

School is a safe-haven for some of my students and I want to keep it that way.

I try to create an environment in my classroom where the students feel comfortable. My students are very energetic and love to keep busy in the classroom. One of my goals is for the room to be a place where they come to de-stress and forget about the world around them, if even for a short amount of time.

My Project

Technology is becoming more and more important in the classroom. We are fortunate enough to have computers that my students can use almost every day in my classroom. However, these computers can be loud and distracting in a small classroom setting. Having headphones can cut down on a number of distractions and allow my students to quietly learn using technology without disturbing their classmates who are trying to work around them.

I would love my students to have the opportunity to watch videos, listen to books, and use online learning resources with these headphones.

Using this type of technology will allow my students to experience the world around them in a way that might not be provided to them otherwise. My students aren't always able to travel and experience new things outside of their little town. I want to be able to bring the world to where they are, and these headphones would be a wonderful starting point.
