Day after day, our world is evolving, and so are my students. My students are eager to learn and apply their newly found knowledge. I have some of the most compassionate, silly, artistic, and energetic students there are. They love learning, playing, and being creative. They come from many different backgrounds, but they all build each other up and celebrate each other’s accomplishments. Many of my students have learning abilities and disabilities such as gifted, dyslexia, ADD, SPED, and autism. My students are being held back by things they have no control over, such as their home life or their family’s finances. A majority of the students in my school are economically disadvantaged.
Things that mean so little to others mean the world to my kids.
They make do with what they have, but they deserve so much more. Many students are behind on grade level content, and with additional support I believe I can help them make leaps to close those gaps. The children in my classes are future leaders, doctors, teachers, scientists, authors, and so much more. My students strive day after day to be a champion in every way and soar above the rest!
Many of my students are economically disadvantaged and can’t afford their own set of headphones. Headphones are a huge necessity in our classroom. We use them daily in our technology center and weekly when we visit the computer lab. I don’t currently have enough headphones for each of my students.
Many of my students are below grade level in reading, and they really need to be able to hear the stories they choose to be read to them.
Following along as a story is read to them helps build their fluency and comprehension. With headphones I will be able to help each student become a stronger reader!
