Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach in a public middle school in Sun Valley Ca. My classroom is composed roughly 60 students with special needs grades 6th , 7th and 8th. Some of my students are paired with the inclusion program at out school. We share over 200 students among the programs. The combination provides a strong sense of community where students with special needs learn to establish relationships and model better behavior from their peers and vice-versa.

My Project

By donating to our project, you will not only help my students to improve and increase attention and focus, this will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement too. Having earbuds that I am requesting for my students will be a great way for them to utilize in other classes. Specially struggling readers will often be assigned the use of the online textbook audio feature to understand the concepts being taught in class. Students will love using the earphones, because it will be less intimidating than a typical book.
