Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students at my school come from primarily low-income families with minimal English language proficiency. My students are lively, eager to learn, and are full of potential to become amazing students.

The Kindergarten grade level is made up of 48 students.

Of those 48 students, 21 are English learners who receive EL services.

My Project

Our students have a personalized learning time where they use different programs on the computer to further their math and literacy education. In order to use these programs, each student needs a pair of headphones so the other students are not disrupted by the sound. Many of my students are EL students who have very low English language proficiency. The use of headphones while using the programs, such as Lexia and i-Ready, will allow them to further their understanding and learning of the English language. The headphones will be housed in the computer cart and each student will be assigned a pair.
