Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I want my students to be eager and ready to learn for 3rd grade. They strive and try very hard to learn from each lesson. My students are at different levels of reading and math. They go to the computer lab four times a week to improve their reading and math skills.

All my students are English Language Learners and receive free lunch and breakfast.

They live in a community with limited resources. Even though my students have some limited English skills they still strive to learn new concepts. They need intense intervention to excel in school. Our school provides a safe learning environment. Our staff strives for our students to become life long learners.

My Project

My students will use the headphones four times a week when they go to the computer lab. The headphones will help my students concentrate and learn independently. They will be using the headphones to do Lexia Core 5 and ST Math. Lexia Reading Core5 provides explicit, systematic, personalized learning in the six areas of reading instruction. Lexia Reading Core5 provides students immediate corrective feedback, multiple levels of scaffolding, and explicit instruction both online and through direct instruction with the teacher. Students work independently to develop reading skills in a structured, sequential manner. ST Math is game-based instructional software for K-12 and is designed to boost math comprehension and proficiency through visual learning. The ST Math software games use interactive, graphically-rich animations that visually represent mathematical concepts to improve conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills.

The headphones will improve my students' skills in the area of math and language arts.

They will enjoy using comfortable and workable headphones will improving their math and language arts skills. The headphones will help them concentrate on their work. Students will be more interest in using the headphones since the ones they are using now do not have cushion and they are very uncomfortable to wear.
