My Students

I teach in an urban setting within a Title I school in Richmond, Virginia. My school is a medium-sized school in a community that is full of lower-income families. ALL kids receive free breakfast and lunch.

I am currently teaching my first class as a sole classroom teacher; I have worked for several years as an instructional assistant prior to this year.

My Kindergarteners are super busy, talkative, and love to have fun!

They certainly keep me running but this is what I signed up for and I love going through it with them...

My Project

The world is digital and unfortunately my students are not fully aware. Most of my students do not have access to different technological resources, like the internet or even Wi-Fi, but they need to be to become successful within the world!

I would like to integrate more technology into the classroom to promote growth for each student at their own level and their own pace.

I want to introduce them to ideas that are available online and to do that, we need working headphones.

I am asking for 24 pairs of headphones; with headphones, my students will be have access to an incredible amount of new learning opportunities online.

They will enjoy listening to different programs to increase their listening comprehension skills; songs to help them memorize the alphabet; and stories to become familiar with new sight words.
