Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In our classroom students have numerous opportunities to practice skills that will help them achieve digital literacy. In addition to our daily content lessons, students participate in personalized instruction, via blended learning, to gain extra practice on math and readings skills that target their individual needs. Students also have the opportunity to share what they have learned in a variety of ways, one way includes using programs on their chromebooks to create projects that demonstrate their knowledge. Students also use technology to learn how to research and about a multitude of topics that they can then share through writing tasks.

Headphones help students stay focused and engaged as they work on reading, math, and writing skills.

Not only do they allow them to hear audio that gives them instructions and information on the tasks they are engaging in, but it helps them do so without being distracted by the lessons or activities that their fellow classmates may be simultaneously working on. Additionally, students take many of their progress monitoring tests online. Headphones are important as it allows them to listen carefully and try their best on their test questions so that I can have accurate data about their skills progress and plan on how to further support each student.

Today, technology is very prevalent in our society. I want to make sure that I am doing my part and giving my students the opportunities and materials they deserve to be able to continue to develop their digital literacy while they also work towards mastery of grade level standards in reading, writing, and math.
