Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My classroom was donated headphones 4 years ago right here on DonorsChoose, and each pair provided learning experiences. The majority of them have been used for the last time.
Some of our students have needs where text needs to be read to them.
Having headphones to use would help them advance and participate with the rest of their classmates. Students with lower reading levels can feel shy when they are not able to follow along with their classmates. Allowing them to be able to listen to the text using headphones, apart from the teacher reading it aloud, will allow them to achieve participation in group work. I also assigned videos for our visual learners to help them better understand our classroom objectives.
We also have newcomers in our classroom who are learning the English language. Having the text read to them is a great resource.
