Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The pandemic has changed how we teach and learn. Students are showing regression and to make things worse, focusing and engagement are some of the biggest issues. This year, I have 13 students who are enrolled in a 3/4/5 self-contained special education bridge class. This means I have 13 students- 4 who are third-graders, 5 fourth graders, and 4 fifth graders. All of which have been diagnosed with different disabilities including ADHD, Visually impairment, Autism, and other learning disabilities.

Despite their disabilities, my students show up day in and day out and they try their best to learn social skills, reading, writing, and math.

My Project

All my students need different modalities to meet their needs. One way is accomplished in our 3/4/5 self-contained special education class is by using an online application to support the needs of various learners.

The headphones I am requesting will support us all by allowing us to create small groups in the classroom.

Students will be able to use their own headphones and use educational applications.

By using the headphones in our classroom, students who are using technology along with educational applications can avoid distracting the class from instruction. Furthermore, the headphones will help the students who struggle with auditory processing by limiting outer noises and distractions.
