This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This year, my students are very special to me as some of them had me for their second grade teacher as well! I have been gifted a class that works hard, likes to have fun and cares deeply for others. As sixth graders, my students are the leaders of the school and are striving everyday to prepare for middle school next year.

My class is has a wide variety of personalities, backgrounds and passions which drive them each day.

I love that they share so many parts of themselves with me regarding activities in school as well as out of school. It has really enabled me and my class to build a strong relationship so far this year!

My Project

Last year we navigated the pandemic which came with many accommodations to our in-class learning. One item that was important to provide per student was headphones! I need more sets in order to provide usable and high quality headphones to each student to use for the duration of our upcoming school year. By having their own set, students can learn independently during individual work times without disrupting others in the classroom. Individually working and not having to worry about sharing germs on equipment that is placed on our heads, can eliminate stress that can impact some students' learning ability.

By removing the stress of sharing headphones, we can focus on learning and what is important in the classroom.
