My Students

My students each have unique, inspiring personalities. They have shown resilience throughout the entirety of pandemic. However, the pandemic has left its mark. Whole group instruction can be difficult when so many unique voices are still learning and developing who they are and challenging what they thought they already knew. This pandemic has also brought to light the severe inequality they face compared to many other school districts.

Though my students lack resources, they make the best with what they have.

They are currently reading below grade level, so audiobooks have inspired a love for reading. My students always keep me laughing and are appreciative of materials and resources. Though they can’t always articulate their knowledge though writing (YET) they are incredible to show their resilience and genius through video interviews and hands on activities.

My Project

This project will help ensure all students are able to succeed with online learning platforms. One can only imagine how chaotic a classroom can become when 25+ computers are being used with audio. Schools provide Chromebooks but do not provide headsets. This donation will help ensure no student is distracted due to a lack of technology or equipment.

Students are regularly tested on their reading fluency, having the proper equipment will ensure equitability for their testing scores.

More so, it reinforces accountability that they are in fact learning at grade level. As a nation, we are still learning to navigate the COVID pandemic. Students have shown resiliency through their continued commitment to their educations and communities.

With this donation, our school can ensure all 4th grade students have the opportunity of equal learning. Currently, the other 4th grade classroom has a long term sub, due to the teacher shortage. I have requested this amount of headphones to also help support that classroom.
