This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Headphones are a necessity in my classroom to reduce noise and keep distraction levels down. My students complete daily lessons on iReady Reading and Math on their individual devices. However, as multiple headphones have broken since the beginning of the school year, some students are forced to play their lessons out loud. This is creating a lot of noise and distraction to other students, as well as the small group I am trying to work with.

These headphones will allow me to replace the broken ones and ensure my students are never without this necessary tech.

I am also requesting a label maker. All my student's headphones look the exact same and therefore are always getting mixed up. With this label maker, I will be able to personalize their headsets with names to keep organized. I will also use this to label other materials in the classroom.

Finally, I am looking to add LED push lights to my classroom to nonverbally show my kids when they are able to come and conference with me. I have been struggling with students coming up to me during small group time to ask questions. I plan on using these lights to show when I am available or not.
