Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a departmentalized reading and writing teacher, I see about 50 students in a daily basis. I teach at a Title 1 school, in a low income area in the heart of Miami, and where my students' neighborhood and environment play a major role in their actions/behavior.

Each student, eager to learn and show what they know, and I place any classroom obstacle (lack of resources) on the side and see the plethora of possibilities that could be accomplished each day.

My students know that the things that make us happy and united are the little moments of memories that we create in the classroom.

My Project

School is not how it was ten years ago. Books, notebooks and a teacher in-front of a class the entire time is just not quite enough for the students to accomplish mastery in their curriculum. Technology has become key to reducing any education gap.

Currently, my students are not fortunate enough to fully explore the wonders of online education/reinforcement. Technology is so necessary in their curriculum that with only five tablets/laptops, they will be able to complete their required lessons and reading comprehension programs. The headphones will enable a more focused situation and the headphone splitter will allow two students to benefit at once.
