Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are grade levels TK-3. I work at a small RSP classroom and work with students with different disabilities (OHI, SLD, SLI, AUT). I support students 3-5 times a week in English Language Arts and Mathematics.

My students light up my day every morning.

They are very special to me. When they come to my classroom, they always come with smiles or talking about little things that they seem so eager to share. I always greet them with a nice "good morning" and compliment something about them (hairstyle, dress, a picture on their shirts, shoes, etc). They like coming to my classroom and if I do not pull them out for wherever reason -IEP meetings, parent meeting, SPED meeting-, they come during their recess and ask why did I not pick them up and if I will pull them out later? I love my students!

My Project

Students love having fun! Because of that, I always consider the use of games and manipulatives to get them more engaged in their learning.

By experience, I can truly say that students learn better when they play games or use some manipulatives that allow them to practice some skills independently.

That is the reason why I decided to do this project so I can get some of the materials I need to make their learning more exciting!

The fractions tiles set will help my students understand better the concept of fractions, while the diversity of word blending games will assist them in improving their phonics skills and become better readers, always, while enjoying their learning!
