Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach a wonderful group of 3rd graders English Language Learners, inquisitive, and eager learners! They come to school ready to absorb all the learning they can to be prepared for 2nd grade! However, they use or lose pencils so quickly that it is time to replenish them for the last 6 weeks of school. The pencils and erasers requested will be used daily for all academic subjects throughout the day.

The primary reason students use pencils is that they can be easily erased, allowing for corrections when making mistakes during writing or drawing.

Making mistakes is a natural part of learning, and erasers enable students to experiment and refine their work without feeling discouraged by permanent errors. Using pencils helps develop fine motor skills as students learn to grip and control the pencil properly.
