My Students
Entering 6th grade is always full of so many emotions and changes. It's always fun to watch the students start out as shy young kids, and blossom into outgoing and crazy fun preteens!
My students are creative, inquisitive, and love learning!
They love classroom projects that are hands-on, engaging, and require them to create their own unique solutions. They question the world around them, and continue to work until they have found an answer. Their love and excitement for learning is what makes me love teaching!
Our school is a low income Title 1 school. I want my students to come to school not lacking in materials to learn. School should be a place where they feel safe, comfortable, and not want for anything.
Each child in my classroom absolutely loves learning. We do a lot of group work, group discussions, and hands on projects. We learn how to search for answers and new ideas, instead of expecting someone to tell us one answer. My kids are truly some of the best, and I am always excited and lucky to get such great learners every year.
My Project
Having new plastic chairs will be such a help in the classroom! The wooden chairs they currently have are old and most are broken or weak. My students come to class early to try and pick the best seats possible before taking their restroom/locker breaks. Some even choose sitting in the desk over sitting in the wooden chairs.
These chairs will help the students feel more comfortable in their learning environment and not focus on the creaky chairs!
Plastic chairs are more durable and will last longer than the wooden chairs they currently are using. I know all of my students will greatly appreciate the upgrade!
