My Students

My students live in a rural Texas town. We are a low socioeconomic school. English is a second language for many of the students in my class. Many of these students have limited resources at home and very few life experiences. Many have not traveled outside of our little town.

These energetic second graders come to school every day so eager to learn!

They love to read, use technology, problem solve and make friends. And I love giving them the best educational experiences, materials and resources that I possibly can.

My Project

I am requesting rugs, chairs, and pillows so that my students can experience flexible seating in my room. I believe that flexible seating will help keep my kids focused, engaged, and motivated throughout the school day. Who doesn't love to stretch out with a good book, or curl up in a comfy seat and write a story? With these seating options, I am expecting my students to be so much more prodctive. They will also enjoy themselves and feel at home in the classroom. Flexible seating is not only educational, but it is comfortable. Kids spend so many hours at school. They should be comfortable too!
