Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are special because they are unique. My Pre-K bilingual students are raised in a low SES community. This is the community where I was raised, which is why I am teaching at this elementary school. I want to give back to our community; the community who saw me grow up and become the best teacher I can be.

Our school has been recently affected by Hurricane Harvey.

I lost all materials, including the materials parents had left in my classroom for their children. We are moving locations and have to start all over. However, my students inspire me and I know we will be okay.

My Project

These Math manipulatives will make a difference in my students' learning by helping them understand and learn new Math concepts. My students will use these manipulatives during Math centers or during whole group instruction. With these manipulatives, my students will learn how to count, sort, and create patterns. It is difficult for my students to comprehend new Math concepts without any manipulatives, like counters and cubes. These materials will help my students improve their school lives by helping them become mathematicians. In this list, I've also included paint which will assist my students in exploring the art, paint and creative center. Paint will help them use their imagination and explore their talents.
