This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our science lab is a place of challenge and discovery. Students will spend this year learning the foundation of knowledge and skills they will need as they pursue their education.

The students that I have a privilege of teaching range from Kindergarten - fifth graders in an urban, inner-city elementary school.

They are excited to explore the world of science, to perform experiments, and to expand their capacity for critical thinking. They take pride in their efforts and are willing to challenge their minds for the sake of learning.

Our student population is 99% minority and over 97% qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. With that being said, I believe that they deserve the BEST education and every opportunity to be successful in fulfilling their dreams.

My Project

I want to spark interest in reading, what better literature than the Harry Potter book series to accomplish this goal. To make this goal a reality, I need your help in getting our book sets and bookmarks to our reading club.

Magic Wand ... Books, Books, Books...we want to be ready to start our reading club at the start of the new school year.

Education is changing every single day, and so are the interests of my students. Students in my classroom like to read fiction books. I would like to have enough books for 10 kids to participate in our Harry Potter Wizard Book Club in the fall. My students will love getting their hands on comic books.
