My Students

I have 350 dedicated math students who are part of an amazing blended learning program that wants to learn by doing.

My students' lives are hard enough - math needs to be fun and meaningful to them.

Some live in shelters, some are the main caretakers for younger siblings, and some do not know where their next meal is going to come from. Despite all of this, students come to my math class wanting to learn. Even with all of this hardship, my students are determined to succeed. Last year, our students grew an average of 1.4 grade levels in one school year. This year, I want all of my students to grow 1.6 grade levels.

My Project

Students need rewards for working hard. Hard work pays off. We all know that a good education increases future job prospects. In middle school, it is often difficult to visualize the future since it is so far away.

Prizes boost student work ethic.

Receiving a prize for working hard will incentive students to always try their hardest. These prizes include fidget spinners, stress balls, mood pencils, and stickers to help encourage student effort.

With state tests just around the corner, students need calming gadgets to help them relieve the pressure that they are feeling. These prizes will do just that.
