This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

As a teacher asking for school supplies is never easy, but if we know something that makes a child’s learning easier and our classroom expectations clearer, why wouldn’t we ask for your help in acquiring it?

These supplies mean so much more than the value of their plastic, wood, canvas, or ink.

The water bottles will keep them healthy an dydrated, so they will always be ready to learn. The handwriting workbooks will help them fill any gaps with letter and number formation, and the pencils will of course keep them prepared.

If you have ever stepped foot into a classroom you will know what a commodity kleenex tissues are, you can never truly have enough!

Our school is a Title 1 school which means our kids are at-risk and come from impoverished homes. Our district has one of the highest number of families living in poverty compared to any other in the state of Florida. Despite this my students are willing and determined to learn and make a difference.
