Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Friedrich Nietzsche wrote, "Without music, life would be a mistake." Help the future musicians, symphony players, music educators in our classroom discover the beautiful world of music that is oozing out of their souls!

My students and their instruments survived a hurricane, moldy and warped bridges with a smile on their face and eagerness to get back to playing!

Our thriving Texas school may still be recovering but the students are motivated and excited to perform anywhere and everywhere they can! It's the music that keeps them focused and coming to school. They are an incredible group of students who find joy in everything they do no matter what their personal situations are and I am a lucky teacher to have them in my program.

My Project

Our string orchestra needs strings and shoulder rests to keep us playing and thriving! Strings need to be replaced in order to sound clean and strong. When a string breaks the students have to wait until we can purchase or borrow a string! Often our strings begin to unravel and we keep our fingers crossed that they won't break anytime soon! We have strings that haven't been changed for 3 years! Students are not always able to afford a shoulder rest for their violin or viola and have to use the broken shoulder rests that have been taped back together. The students never complain because they just want to play.

By donating to our project, you will help the students sound, posture and overall performance increase!

Students will be able to hear their improvement quickly with the replacement of new strings and perform with better posture with the help of the shoulder rests.
