My Students

My students want to experience the unthinkable! I would like to expose my students to animals that they do not meet in their everyday lives so they can learn about different animals and how they grow and change!

Kindergarten students love to learn about animals.

The best way to teach students about animals is by letting them experience different animals with their own eyes and hands. Having the ability to see, touch, and watch them grow and change in their own habitat can impact a child for the rest of their lives! My students attend a local school in a rural area of North Carolina that his been impacted significantly by the down slope of the economy. I teach a group of twenty three students that are eager to learn through exploration and observation. I teach students from all backgrounds and economic situations, but every child has a strong desire to learn all that they can in order to become successful!

My Project

If students are able to experience animals in a classroom habitat throughout the school year, they will gain a better understanding of what that animal's life would be like in the environment that it would naturally live. By having habitats of hissing cockroaches, chameleons that change color due to their surroundings, and geckos to observe will allow the students in our class to experience science through other living creatures!

By donating to our classroom, you are helping students experience animals in a way that they have never experienced them before.

You will help to allow my students the opportunity to enrich their educational experience through hands-on learning and share their experiences with their families and the other students in our school!
