HandsOn Learning with Inspirational Healthy Eating

My Project

I work in NYC and my students are from Brooklyn. They are special education students with classifications of Autism and Learning Disabled. My students are amazing young people who are eager to learn and be engaged in the growing of fruits and vegetables to stay healthy!

I want to teach my students about the health benefits of growing their own vegetables and fruits.

I want them to share the food we grow with their community and family. My students are interested in learning how to grow healthy food. They are inquisitive and benefit from real world hands on learning!

I am hoping they bring what they learn home to their families and communities and instill

some healthy nutritional habits within their home! This project will help my students by promoting health and wellness initiatives in their community. If our starter garden is a success we will have a farmers market for the parents to come and get healthy food from!
