My Students

My students are making the best of a tough situation. Due to health concerns, adult work circumstances, and access, my students are learning from home this year. I teach special education resource to completely remote students. Students span grades and skill levels but all of them are caring, energetic, and imaginative. They crave structure, high interest activities, and connections. To match this, I'm usually hollering cheers, greetings, and creating a general ruckus full of energy. I do this to match the energy my students are already bringing into our online classroom.

While they are learning virtually, they still have physical needs.

Families chose online for various reasons related to their family needs. They believe they can be their best. The believe in each other. They believe and know their teachers are going to help them be their best self. I need help making sure this is possible.

My Project

These materials will truly bring school to my students' homes during Remote Learning. While many activities can be shared and accomplished via their technology, nothing replaces the benefits of hands-on practice and use of materials. Students need more than participation through a screen. They need more than submitting electronic assignments.

These materials will put learning in my students hands, not just behind a screen.

Manipulatives will be used to help students practice math concretely. Card stock and laminating sheets will be used to create game boards, flash cards, and reproducibles students can use frequently to practice their individual goals.
