Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our community is a group of eager learners and hardworking students who need intervention services in reading, writing, and math. They are a mix of general education students that are classified as at-risk, English as a New Language, and students classified with learning disability, speech and language impairment, and other health impairments.

The students in the intervention group may be one to two years behind in reading, writing, and math but are very eager to learn and would love a chance to have more tools to access the curriculum.

My Project

As we target more students identified at-risk and students with learning needs, these materials will provide additional tools for my resource room. Students will have more ways to hone in on skills through small group instruction and be given new ways to make learning fun.

The math hands-on materials will provide students the chance to integrate mathematical concepts from concrete to representational to abstract.

Similarly, the magnetic dry erase board and computers will be used so students can express themselves and see information in a different way other than the traditional paper and pencil. Also by improving computer familiarity and skills we can help better prepare students for the diverse ways in which they will experience technology throughout life.
