My Students

My students are E^3: energetic, engaged, and eager. We are interested in our environment and preparing ourselves for an exciting year. This year we have goals, we have dreams, and we have steps to take to reach them.

My students deserve every opportunity to succeed.

I am excited to be at a new school this year. It has taken me a couple months to get settled in, but now I have a great idea of what our classroom could use in order to help us meet our academic goals.

My Project

Things are always changing in the classroom. I originally was hoping to have a new easel in my classroom where I could model lessons, but I have since changed my request due to new priorities. Between November and December I have had two new students added to my roster. Because of the increase in student numbers, I am hoping for a new Chromebook and iPad that can be utilized during reading and math centers.

Differentiation is a key ingredient to student success.

The Chromebook and iPad are a great way to achieve this. This technology will allow each student to work at their own level, pace, and skill set. If I am granted both of these, students will be learning at individualized stations. My small group is differentiated toward skill level, Chromebooks allow students to choose web-based activities based on interest, and the iPad allows students to access RazKids which is personalized toward their reading level. This block of time and use of technology will become very effective.
