Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This year I am working with some spunky fourth-grade students who have a lot of energy. The bulk of my students are of Hispanic and Asian decent and I love the culture they bring to our classroom and school community. Also, I work with students with special needs as well as English Language Learners. My students are visual, auditory and kinesthetic learners. My current students enjoy reading graphic novels, making videos on Tik Tok and spend a lot of time on Roblox.

My students enjoy learning from each other and loving sharing their personal experiences.

They help each other and are encouraged to learn from each other. Fourth grade is an important year for my students because it determines what middle school they will go to. You can bet these students will be working hard this year.

My Project

Teachers's Pay Teachers has an abundant amount of resources. I am looking to purchase hands-on materials for my class, especially for math. I have seen many great math resources that would help my below benchmark students build their number sense and numeracy fluency. Also, there are many task that with help with my on-grade level and above-grade level students, that would help with building critical learning skills through conversation and group work. Students will be using these purchased materials at school and home. We always encourage our students to try activities at home that were practiced in school.
