My Students

Imagine blowing bubbles, observing them float through the air, and taking data on how different variables affect the bubbles. My students need to practice the steps of the scientific method using safe and practical materials in experiments like this.

My classes of fifth grade students are eager to learn about science.

They especially enjoy doing hands-on experiments. The students look forward to science because it allows them to actively question, create, and participate in their own learning which in turn helps them remember concepts better and improve their logical thinking skills.

My Project

The funding of this project will directly benefit the students by making it possible for them to complete the hands-on experiments that correlate with the big ideas in science and the standards they are learning, rather than just reading about them in textbooks. As they learn about experimental design, the students will be able to measure how variables, like glycerin, affect the experiment and in this case, lifespan of a bubble. They will then take this data and use it to draw conclusions based on their results.

Your help in supporting this project will enable students to take their understanding of science and logical thinking further, by allowing them access to safety equipment and supplies such as specific chemicals for hands-on experiments.
