This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a new teacher with a major in Elementary Education, I began my first year of teaching as a Middle School Science teacher thinking what was I getting myself into. The very first day I met my students, I knew I made the right choice.

Regardless of our limited resources, my students have a passion and love for Science that pushes even myself on my 'off days'.

This motivation of theirs gives me the encouragement I need from time to time to go above and beyond for them. Having the resources needed to provide them with the Science Education they deserve is what this is all about.

My Project

Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn. We all know that engagement and hands-on learning brings in more involvement in the classroom.

Being able to have these science supplies will give me the opportunity to plan for more engaging experiments.

Every time I tell my students that we will be associating our lesson with an experiment or hands-on activity, their eyes light up and I can clearly see their excitements.

From cool colored density towers, to solar powered ovens, and various chemical reactions, these supplies will help us achieve it all.
