My students need hands-on materials for science units throughout the year and rocks and minerals to analyze. They also need organization materials since this will be their first year traveling to their classes on their own.

My Students

Students are gifted and talented; always eager to try something new. They come from various boroughs of New York City to attend class in East Harlem. Their various races and backgrounds give the school a vibrant feel of culture. Students are critical thinkers and require different learning styles to accommodate their needs. Within the school day students are analyzing images, text and completing hands-on task to develop their understanding. Students are asking questions and engaged in peer discussions to deepen their understanding.

My Project

The science kit materials (Cells & Organisms Activity Tub and Properties of Earth Activity Tub) will help students better understand what they learn through the science content. Students will be naturally equipped to learn through observation and investigations.Students will be able to analyze and create their own simple machines, find solutions for real-world problems and think like scientist.

Every time the child repeats a task or a skill that particular neural pathway is reinforced and strengthened.

Since this year will be the first year students will be moving to their core subjects on their own, organization and repetition is key. Having the trays and bins will help create uniformity for assignments and homework in the classroom.
