My Students

Do you remember learning about why it rains and why the wind blows certain directions and at different speeds? What better way to learn about science than with actual science experiment equipment and hands-on activities. These resources will allow our students to explore the world of science.

Our students are diverse and eager to learn as much as they can.

They come from many different cultures. They try their hardest in all that keeps and teachers strive to make our school a safe and nurturing institution that keeps students motivated and involved.

My Project

Our students dream of being able to measure the wind, to see the stars, and to make educational power point presentations. With Chevron's Fuel Your School donation, these dreams could become a reality for our 5th grade students. I am requesting telescopes, barometers, models of animals and plants, as well as other science resources. These resources will highly engage the students in hands-on learning that will better prepare them for the science standards of 5th grade. Resources such as: anemometers, barometers, astrolabes, telescopes, and compasses will allow the students to see first hand how these instruments work. The HP computer will allow students to create, edit and present power point presentations on weather and astronomy and to allow them to view web based science standard videos and activities. Students will be actively engaged in all aspects of learning the science standards and will be better prepared for their academic futures.

These resources will greatly help the students and will motivate them in a way not often found in the typical classroom.

These hands-on instruments will foster teamwork and allow the students to use actual science instruments to fascinate, educate, and facilitate active learning. The HP computer will greatly enhance the quality of education in our class by allowing students to learn how to make power point presentations on weather and astronomy that they can share with future classes.
