Hands on Real World Learning

My Project

We have so many interesting topics that we get to learn about in second grade in math and science. To add to these amazing subjects, I would like to give my students the opportunity to get their hands on models or other manipulatives to help them more fully involve themselves with their learning.

No child comes back to a classroom and asks the teacher, "do you remember when we did that worksheet?" They do, however, come back and say, "Do you you still have that ... that we got to use?

I still remember ..." Getting their hands on, gets them connected to their learning and promotes more long term memory. I want my students to get excited about learning by not only hearing and reading about it, but actually being able to have an experience with it.

Every child deserves to learn to love learning, and this is a great way to promote that.
