My Project

During the pandemic, students didn't have the opportunity to work together on group projects. What better way to work together than building intricate Lego projects? Students use cooperation, organizing, and hands-on skills to create awesome historic & pop culture icons such as the Great Pyramid of Giza, Hokusai's Great Wave, & Harry Potter's Dobby. Middle school students frequently finish their assignments and ask, what do I do next or, more often than not, can I play on my phone? The opportunity to work on these Lego sets answers this question without using a cell phone. Students will have a wide range of sets to choose from to work toward a common goal. When they finish a set, it gives them a sense of accomplishment. Then, it gets to be displayed in the classroom for all to see. When the school year is finished and the next year begins, the next group will have the same opportunities as the previous year without needed to replace the Lego sets. Our school also has a time twice a week that students get to pick from a variety of classes from completing missing work to woodworking. What a great option building iconic Lego sets to add to that list?
