Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
My students are very curious and have a hunger for knowledge. They are economically disadvantaged where more than a 95% do not count with enough resources at home to reinforce their learning, and they are English Language Learners (a lot of them new to the country). Our classroom is a key and safe place for them to start their pathway to become successful individuals in all aspects of life. We work cooperatively not only to learn academic content but also to reinforce values that would ensure their social emotional skills and to build strong and relevant relationships as they grow up. My students have different learning styles, and all of them are valued and optimized in their classroom interactions towards their learning. Therefore, I would like to offer my students hands on math centers to facilitate their math skills practice, develop their vocabulary and enhance their interactions which will help them to learn in cooperatively manner.
My Project
This engaging math resources would allow the practice of addition and subtraction as well as number recognition and counting.
The resources are presented in the form of games that can be used in groups or partners in order to ensure the "math talk" and the collaboration through fact-checking process, which will develop students academic and social skills.
My students would enhance their math skills through engaging and fun activities which would also ensure their develop of their second language (English). This would give them a strong foundation in number sense so that they can not only be successful in mathematics for the years to come, but acquire a passion for it that would lead them to the stars!
